Install Homebrew

The essential package manager on Mac.

1. First install the Xcode command line tools (see the dedicated guide).
2. Paste the official command from brew.sh:

   /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"

   Copy
3. On Apple silicon, add brew to your PATH:

   echo 'eval "$(/opt/homebrew/bin/brew shellenv)"' >> ~/.zprofile
   eval "$(/opt/homebrew/bin/brew shellenv)"

   Copy
4. Install a tool or an application:

   brew install wget
   brew install --cask firefox

   Copy
5. Maintenance:

   brew update && brew upgrade
   brew cleanup
   brew doctor
