Terms of use
Last updated: 29 October 2026.
1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the Green YGreck Guides website, its language versions, its toolbox, its community and its mobile app (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
2. Publisher
The Service is published under the name Green YGreck Guides. This site is not a business: it is run on a non-commercial basis, and the ads shown only serve to keep the site alive (hosting and running costs). Contact: guides@green-ygreck.online. The site runs on PHP. Host: [TO COMPLETE: name and address].
3. Access to the Service
Reading the guides, articles, links, archives and tools is free and needs no account. You are responsible for your Internet connection and your equipment. We may interrupt, change or remove all or part of the Service at any time, in particular for maintenance, without any right to compensation.
4. Guides, articles and tools: information, not personalised advice
Content is provided for information only, with great care but without any guarantee of accuracy, completeness or suitability for your situation. Systems and software change fast: a procedure may become outdated.
Some of the operations described are risky: formatting a disk, changing the boot process, installing a system, unlocking a phone or installing a ROM on it, using the terminal with administrator rights. They can lead to data loss, loss of the manufacturer's warranty or an unusable device. Back up your data before any operation, read the whole procedure and check your hardware's official documentation. You act at your own risk.
The toolbox tools run in your browser and are provided "as is".
5. External links, ISOs, ROMs and archives
The Service does not host operating systems, disk images (ISOs), ROMs or software: it links to the official websites of their publishers or projects, and to public archives. We do not control those sites or their content, and we accept no liability for them. Downloaded software remains subject to its own licences, which you must respect. Always verify the checksum of downloaded files.
You may not use the Service to obtain or distribute pirated software, licence circumvention tools or any counterfeit content.
6. User account
- The help offered by the site (guides, articles, links, tools) is open to everyone, with no age requirement. However, the use of the Service by children (creating an account, the community, the app, accepting advertising cookies) must take place under the supervision and responsibility of their parents or legal guardians, who are responsible for how the child uses it.
- The information you provide (username, email address) must be accurate. One account per person; the username must not impersonate a third party or be misleading, abusive or reserved.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity carried out with your account. Tell us immediately about any unauthorised use.
- The 30-day rule: to limit spam and fake accounts, only accounts whose email address is verified and that are at least 30 days old can post, reply, react and report. This rule is applied automatically and cannot be bypassed.
- You can delete your account at any time from "My account": your posts, replies and reactions are then erased.
7. Community rules
You are solely responsible for what you post. It is forbidden to post:
- unlawful, hateful, discriminatory, harassing, defamatory, violent or sexually explicit content;
- other people's personal data without their consent, or private information (passwords, keys, credentials);
- malware, instructions to attack systems you do not own or to unlawfully circumvent protections;
- protected content you have no right to distribute, or links to pirated software;
- advertising, solicitation, chain messages or repetitive messages;
- anything intended to disrupt the Service (abusive automation, circumventing limits).
Messages are limited in size and number of links, in plain text. Moderators may remove any content and restrict or delete an account, with or without notice, in particular for breaches of these rules. You can report content with the "Report" button.
Licence to your contributions. You remain the owner of what you post. You grant us, free of charge and for as long as they are published, the right to host, reproduce and display them in the Service (including in the mobile app) so that it works. You warrant that you hold the necessary rights.
8. Intellectual property
The texts, guides, articles, logos, illustrations and code of the Service are protected by copyright and belong to the publisher or its licensors. The trademarks mentioned (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, etc.) belong to their owners and are used for identification only, with no affiliation. Any substantial reproduction or reuse without written permission is forbidden; short quotations with a link to the source are allowed.
9. Mobile app and programming interface
The mobile app and the interface (API) it uses are meant for personal, reasonable use. The following are forbidden: bulk extraction of content, bypassing rate limits or security measures, reselling access and any use likely to disrupt the Service. We may limit or block abusive access.
10. Advertising
The Service is partly funded by advertising (Google AdSense), shown on the site's pages (see the privacy policy for how to adjust it), and possibly by affiliate links marked as such. See the privacy policy.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect damage or for loss of data or revenue related to the use of the Service or to following the procedures described, nor for the unavailability of the Service, nor for content posted by users or third-party sites. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or your rights as a consumer.
For user content, the publisher acts as a hosting provider: it removes promptly any content it becomes aware is manifestly unlawful. To report content, use the "Report" button or write to the contact address.
12. Personal data
The processing of your data is described in the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
13. Changes to the terms
We may change these terms, for example to follow changes in the Service or in the law. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page; for a significant change we will inform you on the site. Using the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first. You keep the benefit of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence. Failing agreement, the competent courts are those determined by the applicable legal rules.
