Start in Safe Mode
Launch Windows with the bare minimum of drivers to diagnose a problem.
- Hold Shift and click Start → Power → Restart.
- Choose Troubleshoot → Advanced options → Startup Settings → Restart.
- After the restart, press 4 (Safe Mode) or 5 (with networking).
- From a terminal, force access to the recovery menu:
shutdown /r /o /t 0
- If you ticked "Safe boot" in msconfig, remember to untick it afterwards, otherwise Windows will always restart in Safe Mode.
