Fix Windows Update

Reset the components when updates stay stuck.

1. Try the troubleshooter first: Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters → Windows Update.
2. Otherwise, in an administrator terminal, stop the services:

   net stop wuauserv
   net stop bits

   Copy
3. Rename the download cache folder:

   ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

   Copy
4. Restart the services:

   net start wuauserv
   net start bits

   Copy
5. If the problem persists, repair the system image:

   DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
   sfc /scannow

   Copy
6. Search for updates again.
