Create a Windows 11 installation USB drive
Prepare a bootable drive with Microsoft's official tool or Rufus.
- Plug in a USB drive of at least 8 GB. Its contents will be erased.
- Download the "Media Creation Tool" from the official Windows 11 page (see the ISO tab).
- Run the tool, choose the language and edition, then "USB flash drive". The tool downloads and writes everything by itself.
- Alternative: download the ISO, open Rufus, select the ISO, GPT partition scheme and UEFI target system.
- Restart the PC and open the boot menu (F12, Esc, F11… depending on the brand — see "Boot keys" in the toolbox).
⚠️ Back up your files before installing: a "custom" installation can format the disk.
